Pore brushes, skin tone swatches, + Livestream

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 28, 2010, 7:04 PM
Hey guys, a lot of you might have noticed I uploaded my standard brush set. If you haven't gotten them yet, you can download them here. In addition to that, a fellow deviant reminded me that I never uploaded my skin tone swatches, so I'm looking into doing that soon too.

While the swatches won't be a comprehensive everything-you'll-ever-need set, it's a really solid base of skin tones from which you can mix just about anything you want, other than circumstances with overly dramatic key lighting of course. In those cases, you can still use it as a base, but you'll need to mix your own tones in.

On top of that, I'm hoping to do some more Livestreaming soon, once I can get a little more caught up on my work. I'll likely stream just me painting, but I also want your ideas for some tutorial stuff you'd like to see. I already did a custom brush one that you can watch on my channel, and went over some matte painting techniques, but other ideas are definitely welcome.

Also, if you didn't know, I'm on Twitter, so hit me up there if you have one!

Catch you all soon!

You should livestream how to plant an idea into someone else's brain through a painting.

your painting . . . BRRRRMMMMM . . . is the scene of a crime . . . BRRRRRMMM

But in all seriousness, I have no ideas for a livestream

hmm.. one thing that eludes me is blending colors the way you do. I get the concept of using several colors to accomplish something like.. realistic skin.. just not much of the how. That or I just may be too dense ;)

Thanks a lot for sharing some of your stuff! I'm trying to get into digital more and more but I find it to be a fairly difficult transition from traditional because there are so many new things to learn. You've got some really cool and inspiring artwork!

Oh, and a basic tutorial on maybe shading/lighting/coloring/effects of objects or people or landscapes would be awesome if you could do it!

Keep it up man you're stuff is awesome!

Thanks for sharing. I was looking for the previous brush set you've submitted after one of those livestreams long ago, but I couldn't find them, so these were life saving. :)

I do well with painting my people and their skin. However I struggle with my backgrounds and painting hard surfaces; metals, plastic, rocks etc. A tutorial on theses things would be awesome, but whenever you have the time. Thanks!

thank you for sharing, I'll experiment with them soon, I'm specially interested in skin ones, cause that's what I'm focusing more on lately, but I'm sure all of them are great to use :) Keep rocking!
