Download my brushset and learn brush grouping

Journal Entry: Mon Dec 2, 2013, 6:22 PM
Hey everyone, I just put up a new video showing a simple, yet super handy way to categorize and group your brushes in Photoshop. It's especially useful if you have a really big set like me, it makes it really easy to find what you need so you don't have to hunt around constantly. I've also provided a download link to my current set of brushes with the video.

Hope you find the video and brushes useful! I'll upload my set here to deviantART at a later date, so in the mean time, if you wanna grab them, hit the video :)

Being an aspiring digital artist, I have continually been frustrated by Photoshop's brush organization (or lack thereof). Imagine how pleased I was to discover that someone out there has a method of organizing chaos! Many thanks sir, I look forward to using this method in my own workflow. Perhaps now I can get out of the ole' Hard Round Brush and start using some different textures at long last!

Thanks for your generosity.

Thanks again for the tutorial/tip, Reid.
I've gone ahead and made my own version for users to download. Sadly, I couldn't get the 1pixel trick to work for me. Once I do, I'll update my file. My download also provides a PSD file already setup for customizing.

I gave you full credit for your work of course.

I watched this video the day before yesterday and I was wondering how did you do this! This is beyond awesome. Thank you so much! Although I wish there was a way to do this other than 'manually', if there was some plugin it'd be so much easier. Anyway, thanks again! =D

I am so going to have to go through this and the other vid.  Holy crap, I have a boat load of brushes and CONTINUALLY have to sift, sort, and try to remember where I put things.  (I tend to download/install when I'm either dead tired or half-asleep trying to wake up- need to stop that)

thank you for doing this.

Hey, thanks for uploading this. As much as I love seeing great artists such as yourself sharing your work, what really brings me joy is seeing people sharing their tips and tools to help other people out. That's what makes DA go from just a collection of artists to a real community. So I've snagged some of the resources you've made available and look forward to putting them to use. Since you've kindly made them free of charge, I thought it would be fair to send a few points your way to show my appreciation. Have a happy winter season, whatever you may celebrate. And keep being awesome.

I always found organizing brushes in Pshop to be the biggest pain.

Great info! I wonder how difficult it would be to make a plug-in to actually sort brushes with?
