I did some artwork for the new
Brothers in Arms game back in April, which was just announced at E3. It was internal art for Gearbox through another company, so I'm not sure it'll ever see the light of day officially, but it was fun to work on.
However, the game itself is getting extremely mixed reactions from E3. The concept is sort of a Inglourious Basterds take on the Brothers in Arms experience, and I think a lot of people are seeing it as a cheap rip off instead of a cool new direction.
I'll reserve my judgement until I see some gameplay, but I'll definitely put up the art if I get the all clear from the client at some point. It's a sort of hero shot of all four characters, really gritty, not quite as Team Fortressy as the trailer.
I haven't actually played a BiA game since the first one, but I've heard mixed things about each once since. Who knows, hopefully this one comes as a surprise and is fun.
Other than that, just keeping busy with my work for Lionsgate. Loving working on film so far, everyone is awesome and I get to try a lot of cool things, even putting my After Effects skills to work. Won't be able to show anything 'til probably next March at the earliest, but the design work is a blast.
Anyone else got any cool news?
Catch ya soonicus!
May games in the past have been heavy inspired by other things.
To me I (without knowing anything else about it) I can see a very fun 4 person shooter that is about shits and giggles; which sound rather fun to me.
Not trying to sound like a whiner or a douche, but trying to help you keep in mind just what an opportunity you've gotten and how you shouldn't take any of it for granted, young padawan
Cool news for me is I am getting a lot of exposure with my music lately (you know, a lot for an indie electronic guy in the US). And I've started a coulpe of projects with some great dA artists to do concept art for a story I've been working on this past year. So yay
As for me? Not much. Still editing my book mostly, although I almost finished the first draft of the movie script I've been writting during my down time at work (which I've had a lot of recently). Oh, and my work just hired new people that I've been training the last two days, which means sitting back and telling them to do the work I normally do haha.
Still just jizzin' over the Assassin's Creed : Revelations Cinematic Trailer.... Oh good lord, Where he glimpses Altair. I can't handle it....
