Details: Containment breach at 1300 hours. Hazmat teams dispatched, all KIA. Extreme biohazard allowed to ferment unchecked for nearly four hours.

Subject mutation impossible to predict, conventional weapons rendered useless. Fire deemed as only effective means at containing outbreak. Military forces called in, special weapons teams: Red, Blue, and Green teams, KIA.

At 2100 hours, firebombing of facility commences. Codename "Vermillion Flux" finds way into sewer system, infection spreads to Chicago. Executive order is given, firebombing of Chicago commences at 2200 hours. 300,000 die from infection, 3.6 million die from fire and environmental damage.

March 16, 2041: Mission and incident details listed as declassifed.

UPDATE: Largest human caused catastrophe until Moscow outbreak in 2035, 9.3 million casualties. "Vermillion Flux" research banned in all countries. Hazards still known to exist, residual organics possible.

Chances of future natural outbreak: Extremely likely.
Predicted casualties if oubreak occurs unchecked inside major population zone exceed ~~400~~ 725 million, extinction of human race possible.
