Volatile Redux by *Rahll is an outstanding piece of sci-fi art. The emotions and the flames run wild in this alien-ape vs. humanoid scene. Close attention to details and colors really bring the whole work together. (

Seriously dude, this is a class piece. The only bits of criticism that I think are relevant to this piece is using the Needler rounds and the posture of the Brute. In the games, the rounds leave a long pink trail, and are fairly thick. Unless you really feel that you can pull off the effect in other pieces, you might want to stay away from it. In your other piece, "Alien Versus Halo" the plasma streak is perfectly done. The second thing that I mentioned was the posture of the Brute. He looks a little distorted. All in all, great piece. The Chief on the Ghost wreckage makes for an epic piece. But then again, I guess the Master Chief's face on anything would increase the sales of it by a few hundred percent!
ok , obviously I didnt make myself clear, you need me to rub your ego for a few sentences before you go look at my stuff, fine, your composition is great, nice handling of a lot of elements, colors, pretty good, shouldve carried the explosion/fire lighting into everything more as its a huge frickin fire, there would be more light from it. chief looks awesome, brute looks ok. there, sometimes i dont feel like writing an effing paragraph t people like you, maybe i just want to spark an artistic conversation on the same subject matter with an intelligent person, is THAT how it works around here....? jeezuz... ---chris, by all means, feel free to not comment onmy work, Im sure youre to busy setting protocol for deviant art users.
Alright, clearly you missed the entire point I was trying to make...
Anyone with half a brain sees right through cut 'n' paste comments or generic ones like the one you left me. I wouldn't care if you had just said nice stuff, but the fact is, by just saying "very cool halo stuff," and then telling me to look at yours, you immediately make yourself look bad. It's an attempt at advertising your own work by disguising it with a cheap compliment. If you left me a real comment, and then ASKED me to check out your work instead of TELLING me, then we wouldn't be having this discussion.
I'm not asking for a stroke of the ego, I'm not even asking for your comments or compliments, I'm asking you to be decent and logical. If you wanted me to look at your stuff, simply ask. Don't tell me, and don't piggyback it to a generic comment. Do it in a polite way, and I'd be more than happy to oblige. I'm all about helping out fellow artists, and I'm a genuinely nice guy, but when people pull cheap tactics like yourself, I get irritated. I looked through your activity and noticed other similar comments. Be more tactful and you're less likely to get ignored or piss someone off.
Not to be a dick, but you shouldn't go around commenting on things just to get people to check your own work out. That's not how it works my friend, it's rude and cheapens everything.
It *is* different from your other works but only maybe colour-wise. This piece has a lot more colour to it which makes it a real blast. But I wouldn't say it's inferior to any other you've made.
From a technical standpoint, the skill just isn't there compared to my other stuff. The process in which it was put together was solid, but somewhere near the middle it fell apart. Light sources, form definition, ridiculously colorful palette.... it just turned into a jumble. Hell, I still like it, but I find so much to dislike about it as well.
I can't say it's bad in any way, but I must agree that I prefer your other works. I was never a fan of such burst of colours but this was done in a non-obtrusive way.

Well I like how this turned out!! Very cool indeed. Cool to see the Brutes in their old armor.
To be an ass...the brutes arm holding the nad seems a little messed up. Not quite sure what though. seems short, or no elbow or somthing. Maybe its just the angle.
I love the chief though! you even put in the scarab <3333
i see what you mean from the point of view of someone at your caliber, the brute has a funny look to him, and his arm is short, or something. the shots o the plaasma rifels seem to be off, MC's foot is small. This artwork is still WAY beyond anything i could do and i appreciate the work obviously put into it, but i can see where you looked back and thought it was a bit amateurish (which even then is to proffesional to me :S)

Thank you for creating such inspiring work!
Have a nice day
