Video: SmudgeGuard for Wacoms by Rahll Video: SmudgeGuard for Wacoms by Rahll
Hey guys, here's a link to a video I made detailing the Smudge Guard, an invaluable asset to your artistic arsenal, especially if you use any kind of Wacom product.

It's essentially a half glove, and it's something I highly recommend. I personally won't paint without it. You can get the run down on it by watching the short video I've put up on YouTube.

You can also get more info directly from the products website at SmudgeGuard.com

I don't own a tablet or wacom or anything similar, but I still feel I have learned something useful I can at least tell my friends who do have said electronics.

Thanks so much for this, I could totally relate to the "sweaty palm that sticks to the tablet and makes my pen do weird things", even though it's just a Bamboo I feel I'm gonna need this SmudgeGuard.

Thank you so much again!

I think I might pick one up if I get into drawing again. And whats this about you saying that not showering is a bad thing <.< >.>;...?

Nah but seriously, great advice, I know I had a lot of smudging problems with my pencil work when I did draw.

Great info.

I've not got a tablet (still can't afford one >_<;)
But I do a LOT of drawing on paper. How well does it work in that department, Reid?

I know the same finger will smudge my pencil work and pretty much ruin the work.

Thanks for the info.

It works pretty well with traditional media. You have to remember, though, that nothing is smudge proof, it just helps you smudge a lot less, so you still should be careful.

For some reason i didnt expect your english to be as good as it is. (i dont know why..must be something my brain cooked up a long time ago) =P

I think you talked about the smudge guard when you first got your cintiq but back then i didnt find any place to get my hands on it. Up untill now ive been using some "special" cloth and a rubber band to get the same effect, so thanks for the link :)

Are my eyes bad, or does your shirt spell "halo 2"? :P

I'm not into fashion, like at all. I wear what i'm comfortable with, and thats that. So, dont hit me if i'm wrong but isnt the t-shirt "design" a very well known brand? :P
It cought my eyes because i felt like i had seen it somewhere else ^^

And one more thing =P Will we get a chanse to see the rest of the sexeh picture you have on that cintiq sometimes soon? :)

I'll have to give it a whirl sometime, my intuos3 already has a few unpleasant nicks in it, and I hate finger grease. Rawr.

same here, it works like a charm. I built my own out of an old glove I had. It just gives you so much more control over strokes which makes work quicker and more efficient. I dont work with out one now.

that video made me dream, then almost cry. sorry i see that this glove you're talking about is a really good idea and it must deserve it price, but all my mind was concentrated on this tablet you hold, it seems to be so incredible! i've heard of it long time ago and i already knew that it was something i will never have the money to buy.
dude your tablet cost more than 1000 euros..... it's more than my salary per month...

by the way my goal on my message is not at all to offend you, i really appreciate the way you try to help people to progress.

and i forgot to wish you an happy birthday!

Isn't it kind of nice to have the side of your hand stick sometimes?

I find it to be a lot easier to draw details if the flesh of the side kinda sticks, while the bones can still move minimally. Then my hand can't accidentally shoot out or anything.
..It's hard to explain.

I look forward to tutorials though. :D

I've never had a problem with keeping my hand still when I need it to, having it literally stick is just annoying in my opinion.
