I did the background for this online browser based RPG called Sect. It's primarily a matte painting, which was a lot of fun to do, as I haven't had the opportunity to do something this detail oriented with a matte yet. You can see the original plate here, big difference huh?

Anyway, check out the site if you're interested at all, it's shaping up to be pretty cool. I might have the opportunity to do more work for the game, but that's currently up in the air.

The content area and logo aren't mine.

And I know people are going to ask to see the full background without the content area, but truth be told, it doesn't exist. There was no need to spend hours on an area that was going to get covered, so sorry!

This is great. I love the tone, especially after seeing the original picture.

I have a question, did you take the original image and just play with levels and coloring to make it that color then go in and destroy all of the buildings accordingly? Or did you re-paint the entire photo? I am in the process of doing a post apocalyptic piece for a final for my matte painting class. Unfortunately, the teach hasn't gone over destroying buildings. Any pointers? Any websites for tutorials that you can send my way? Any and all pointers are appreciated.

I must add that I've been watching you for quite some time now, and I love all of your work. Thanks a lot for the inspiration. It's you and Dan that have really inspired me to try this type of art. Thanks again.
