I've been a huge fan of the Hudson River School painters from the 19th century for a while now. The Detroit Institute of Arts near where I live has a number of Frederic Edwin Church paintings and they're simply incredible.
That said, I wanted to do a study of an Albert Bierstadt painting, another Hudson River School landscape painter. The painting is of the Morteratsch Glacier, you can see the original here

I did the study from scratch with no color picking or drawing, just shapes and color with a few different brushes. Next time I decide to do one, I might Livestream it
