Kick Ass - Lock and Prayerby `Rahll

Digital Art / Drawings & Paintings / Illustrations / Storybook

Two more of the nine illustrations commissioned by Ignition Interactive for the Kick Ass comic/movie property which I worked on with `adonihs. I ended up having to do each of these in less than a day back in January, which was a real rush compared to what I normally do, but it was a lot of fun. These two in particular were actually done in one day, a few hours apiece.

They were both kind of relaxing study-like pieces, so I enjoyed them quite a bit, especially the lock one. I approached it much more painterly than I normally do and I really like how it turned out.

Anyway, these shots have to do with the condition of New York City and the crime. People locking their doors and praying, so on and so forth. Not the most interesting paintings, but I hope you like them!

Lmao, it's always easier when you have direct reference, it eliminates a lot of the guesswork and trial and error. Crafting something out of imagination is always much more difficult, even with the proper supporting reference materials.
