Kamikaze Trooperby `Rahll

This is one of a bunch of characters I was hired to illustrate for Molten Monkey Toys, who are developing a new action figure toy line that just debuted at the G.I. Joe convention in Providence, Rhode Island this weekend. The toys are being designed by some of the original G.I. Joe guys, which is pretty sweet.

Anyway, if you couldn't tell by the name, this is one of the bad guys, part of the Virus team. I had a lot of fun painting this dude, fleshing out details is always interesting. Hope you like it, more to come soon!

This is pretty awesome! I like how he has three knives strapped to his chest as well as what is either a larger knife or a sword strapped to his back! It makes me wonder if they call him a kamikaze trooper because he specializes in close combat, hence the large number of knives and almost nonexistent number of ammo clips for that gun! After all, it doesn't exactly look like he's going to blow himself up any time soon. XD *thinks of kamikaze pilots*

My favorite part about the design HAS to be the eye. Doubling a kamikaze rising sun headband as an eyepiece was a sweet idea. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but come on!
